What happened

  • VA Tech Wabag secured an order from Reliance Industries valued above ₹1,000 crore, Angel One and Kotak Neo reported. The scope covers design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of a desalination plant and a remineralisation plant at Jamnagar, Gujarat, to be executed in phases over 25 months.
  • The desalination plant has a capacity of 8,400 cubic metres an hour, expandable to 12,600, or 302 million litres a day, and uses reverse osmosis with ultrafiltration, Angel One said. The remineralisation plant is rated at 3,000 cubic metres an hour. Kotak Neo called it the company's second Reliance contract, after a September order for an effluent treatment plant at the same site.
  • Angel One reported the shares at ₹1,842.10, up 7.89%, at 10:55 AM and published at 11:37 AM. Kotak Neo had them at ₹1,848, up 8.23%, at 12:03 PM, ending an eight-session fall, and said they were up about 40% for the year but about 26% below their September peak.
  • The shares closed at ₹1,836.30 against ₹1,707.40 on Monday on Kite data, a rise of 7.55% by my calculation, after a high of ₹1,862.30.
