Why it matters

The outlets differ in places: Elets BFSI gives the quarterly rise as 10.9% and Zeebiz as 11%, and first-half profit is ₹1,270 crore at Kotak Neo and ₹1,274.17 crore at Whalesbook.

Good to know: Value of new business is an insurer's estimate of the value of the policies it sold in a period, after the cost of capital to back them. Embedded value adds that to the value of policies already on the books.
