Reliance Industries' subsidiary Jio Platforms has filed its red herring prospectus for a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares, with subscription from 21 to 23 October.
- Sector
- Telecom and conglomerate
What happened
- Jio Platforms filed the red herring prospectus on 14 October for a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares of ₹10 face value, according to Kotak Neo. Sahi reported the same share count and the 21 to 23 October subscription window in its evening report.
- Kotak Neo gave the anchor bidding date as 19 October and said ₹2,500 crore is reserved for eligible Reliance Industries shareholders and ₹500 crore for eligible employees.
- Kotak Neo reported a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 a share and gave the issue size as up to ₹30,200 crore.
- Sahi noted that SEBI's observation letter on the draft prospectus was dated 28 August, after the draft was filed on 19 June. Reliance Industries closed at ₹1,174.60 on Wednesday, up 0.68%, per Zerodha Kite.
Why it matters
Kotak Neo says the issue would be India's largest IPO, ahead of Hyundai Motor India's ₹27,800 crore offering. Jio Platforms is not yet listed, so the price shown is that of its parent.
Good to know: A red herring prospectus is the offer document filed shortly before an IPO opens. It carries the issue size and dates, and the final price band is announced separately before bidding starts.
