What happened

  • The contract covers supply and installation of a 220 kV gas-insulated switchgear substation at the Salsette receiving station and an outdoor 220 kV substation at Powai, per Angel One.
  • Angel One put the value at more than ₹200 crore including GST. Sahi described it as between ₹200 crore and ₹300 crore, named Tata Power as the customer and reported an 18-month timeline from the purchase order.
  • Sahi also noted the company's unexecuted order book was a record ₹4,055 crore on 30 June.

Why it matters

Good to know: Gas-insulated substations seal their switchgear in an insulating gas, so they take up much less land than open-air ones. That is why they are used in dense cities such as Mumbai.
