JSW Steel's consolidated crude steel output rises 5% to 7.27 million tonnes in Q2

What happened

• Consolidated crude steel production was 7.27 million tonnes in the September quarter, up 5% year on year and 10% on the previous quarter, according to Upstox and TipRanks.
• Production at the Indian operations was 7.07 million tonnes, up 5% year on year and 11% on the previous quarter.
• Capacity utilisation at the Indian operations was 88% for the quarter and about 90% in September, as the upgraded Blast Furnace 3 at Vijayanagar ramped up after its shutdown for the upgrade, per Upstox.
• Consolidated production for the first half of FY27 was 13.86 million tonnes, up 4% from 13.32 million tonnes a year earlier.
• The shares closed at ₹1,175.20 on Thursday, down 4.46%.
